Staff Profiles

Building on Steve's professional industry experience at Sony PlayStation his current research focuses on all aspects of 3D CGI animation development, including techniques, historical precedents (traditions and principles) and contemporary products with a strong focus on character animation and character-driven, short animation production. His current research is investigating a nexus between traditional animation techniques and fields of neuroscience and perception.

Research statement 
"Throughout my academic career I am increasingly fascinated with the art of storytelling, primarily through the 3D CGI character-driven short animation format. My aim is to educate in the field of character animation with a vision of incorporating graduates in the real-world practices of media arts and related industries." 

Steve maintains links with animation artists, education facilities and post-production companies in Sydney and throughout the world.
