The Rolling Stones' A Bigger Bang world tour played to a total of 1.2 million at 42 dates in North America in 2005. Last weekend the iconic band performed to 2 million people at a free concert in Rio De Janeiro, which marked the half way point in their world tour.

The Sydney leg of the tour, taking place on Tuesday the 11th of April, entails the creation of a massive stage being installed at Telstra stadium that required 300 tonnes of equipment to be shipped in via four jumbo jets, 38 sea containers and 40 semi trailers. Behind the scenes there is a 200-strong traveling entourage plus an additional 200 plus local workers. The entire production is epic - in its scale and size.

COFA has became a part of these epic preparations, for the one night only rock performance, through an unusual request that came from the event‘s producers who wanted to make the behind the scenes atmosphere of the A Bigger Bang environment as dynamic as the action on the main stage.

Stepping up to the challenge to make backstage engaging was the COFA School of Fine Art who have supplied 30 artworks to fill the green rooms and backstage areas.

COFA known for its receptivity to new ideas and critical enquiry was the perfect choice for the event organisers to seek cutting edge art for their event.
