Join us for a night of singing, laughter and good vibes at ‘Dykes On Mics Karaoke’ at Eulogy for the Dyke Bar.
Led by artist and karaoke enthusiast Salote Tawale, the night will be stocked with all the hottest dyke anthems to choose from. Whether you're a seasoned performer or only sing in the shower, this night is a chance to connect with the dyke community in an inclusive and fun atmosphere.
Salote Tawale works across performance, moving image, painting and installation to probe ideas of self-representation. Humorously challenging stereotypes, Salote presents nuanced articulations of the complex negotiations around identity as a queer Fijian woman with settler-colonial heritage living in Australia.

Presented by UNSW Galleries, the National Art School and Sydney WorldPride, Eulogy for the Dyke Bar is a sculptural environment and memorial to bygone dyke bars. The installation incorporates a café and operating bar, and functions as an active community space for performances, cruising, socialising, and contemplating the future of queer spaces.
This project aims to reclaim the term ‘dyke’ in its most expansive sense and recognises that gender and identities are complex and fluid. Anyone who identifies with, or feels an allyship with, the dyke part of the queer spectrum is welcome and valued at the dyke bar.
