UNSW Art & Design
I am a Professor of Practice in Art & Design at UNSW and CTO for Old Ways, New an Indigenous owned and manager social enterprise working across service design, placemaking and digital product development. For the last 15 years, I've been exploring new ways to use digital to connect people to culture and place. In 2018 I was named in Fast Company's 100 Most Creative in Business for my work in this area.
I've produced and collaborated on a range of award-winning digital and cultural projects in Australia, Europe and the United States. And my work has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, San Francisco Chronicle, National Public Radio, Australian Broadcasting Service, Radio NZ, WIRED magazine and others.
I hold a Ph.D. in New Media (UNSW), and degrees in Computer Science and Physics (USYD). Beyond my professional roles, I'm publishnig a book on the digital future of museums and I serve on the Board of Directors of the Museum Computer Network.
I frequently speak about the intersection of digital, culture and place at forums including South by Southwest, AIGA, Museums and the Web, Nation Digital Form, AMaGA, MuseumNext, REMIX and MCN.
