The following network shares and servers are remotely accessible from outside of UNSW School of Art & Design
Your Network Home Folder
Server Address: https://myfiles.unsw.edu.au
What is on it? Personal files stored in your user account
Art & Design Classwork Server
Server Address: classwork.artdesign.unsw.edu.au
What is on it? Course resources, dropboxes and documentation
Connecting to your Network Home Folder
macOS
Find out which student folder your network home folder is in
- Open your preferred web browser and go to the address: https://myfiles.unsw.edu.au
- Log in with your User ID (e.g z1234567), and your zPass
- Take a note of the StudentXXX folder under the heading “My Home Drive”
Connect via Finder
- Open Finder by clicking on the Finder icon in the Dock, or by clicking on your desktop background
- From the Go Menu at the top of the screen select Connect to Server…
- In the Server Address field type in the server address: https://myfiles.unsw.edu.au
- Click Connect
- In the Name field type in your zID (e.g z1234567), and in the Password field type in your zPass
- Click Connect
- If you have successfully authenticated and icon named myfiles.unsw.edu.au will appear on the Desktop, and in the Shared section in the Finder sidebar
- Open the appropriate StudentXXX folder to access your network home folder within
Windows

Connecting to the Classwork Server
To access the Classwork Server from outside UNSW you will need to connect to the UNSW General Staff & Student VPN (vpn.unsw.edu.au) using the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client software.
Please follow the instructions below to download and install the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client software.

Once you have connected to the UNSW General Staff & Student VPN (vpn.unsw.edu.au) you can follow the steps for below for macOS or Windows.
Note: If you are connecting from your own computer you may need to add the prefix ADUNSW\ to the front of your zID (e.g ADUNSW\z1234567)
macOS
- Open Finder
- Go to the Go menu
- Click Connect to server...
- Type in the server address: smb://classwork.artdesign.unsw.edu.au
- If you are prompted to log on. In the Name field type in your zID (e.g z1234567). In the Password field type in your zPass
- Click Connect
Windows
- Open File Explorer
- In the address bar type in the server address: \\classwork.artdesign.unsw.edu.au\Classwork
- If you are prompted to log on. In the Username field type in your zID (e.g z1234567). In the Password field type in your zPass
- Click OK
Troubleshooting
I can not log in to the server
All servers require you to login with your User ID (e.g z1234567) and zPass. If you are sure you are using the correct credentials:
- Double check you are using the correct server address
- Check whether your zPass has been locked or has expired by going to the UNSW Identity Manager website
- Check your email for notifications of server maintenance down time
- Log a Incident ticket with the UNSW Service Desk on 9385 1333 or using the UNSW Service Desk Self-service website
