The General Education Program at UNSW intends to broaden and deepen students' understanding of the environment in which they live and work and to enhance their critical analysis skills.
Above all, the program presents students with interesting, challenging and enjoyable opportunities to pursue their own intellectual curiosity. UNSW Art & Design students have the opportunity to count any course offered by a Kensington faculty toward their General Education (GE) requirement.
How to find a general education course:
Current students can search for General Education (GE) courses by doing a Class Search in myUNSW and ticking the box 'General Education Only' option. This will list all courses that faculties specifically offer as GE, meaning they do not have prerequisites and are available to students from other faculties. This search will also return UNSW School of Art & Design courses offered as GE to students in other faculties. UNSW School of Art & Design courses cannot be counted as GE toward a UNSW School of Art & Design program - please check the faculty offering the course before enrolling.
