Artsweek is an annual week-long festival of art and creativity, hosted on UNSW’s Kensington campus. In August, Artsweek will liven up main campus by flooding the campus with crazy sculptures, interactive installations, live art demonstrations and engaging creative activities designed to captivate students with creative interests.
Volunteers play a vital role in the organisation and running of Artsweek. In the lead up to Artsweek volunteers will collaborate on installations to be featured on-campus, learn valuable event management skills and set up artworks for exhibition. During Artsweek, volunteers will act as invigilators for these artworks and activities.
To apply, you must be a current UNSW student. Volunteering a minimum of 20 hours for Artsweek is officially recognised by AHEGS (The Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement), and will appear on your academic transcript.
Student works have always been a key feature of Artsweek. Organisers are on the lookout for indoor artworks of all mediums, outdoor installations and outdoor gallery concepts. These works will be displayed/installed in various exhibition spaces across UNSW’s Kensington campus.
Students will also have the opportunity to sell their exhibited works during Artsweek if they wish.
