UNSW School of Art & Design postgraduate researchers work closely with the School and The Graduate Research School (GRS) to manage their candidature. The GRS is the central administration and support unit for all higher degree research candidates at UNSW.
On this page you will find important information and the necessary links to manage your candidature; these include University policies and processes relating to your degree such as annual progress reviews, variation to candidature, ethics, examinations, scholarships and travel.
Postgraduate Enrolment and Re-enrolment
All candidates who have accepted their offer of admission into a research program at UNSW need to enrol before commencing study. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are enrolled at the start of every semester and that your enrolment is correct.
If you are a continuing research candidate, you must check that you are enrolled correctly at the start of each Semester and take action to resolve any issues.
Annual Progress Review
It is a condition of continued enrolment in the higher research degree that your performance is assessed at an Annual Progress Review. The first review for a PhD is called the Confirmation of Candidature. The annual progress review is designed to be a positive, formative and productive process. It is an opportunity to review all aspects of your candidature, to take stock of the progress of your project, and to manage and plan future progress.
