UNSW Art & Design offers selected students recognition of prior learning (Credit Transfer) in a number of its degree programs.
Undergraduate
Students admitted to a UNSW Art & Design undergraduate program who have previously completed a postsecondary qualification may be eligible to receive credit transfer. Please refer to UNSW's Admission with Credit Transfer policy for more information.
Students seeking credit for previous TAFE studies must have completed a minimum of a 2 year diploma (including certificate IV).
Postgraduate
Postgraduate students interested in applying for credit transfer should refer to UNSW’s Postgraduate Coursework Credit Transfer and Articulation Guidelines.
Students admitted to the Master of Art, Master of Design or Master of Curating and Cultural Leadership with a Bachelor degree in a cognate field with a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 65 or equivalent may be eligible for one term (24 UOC) credit transfer.
Students admitted to the Master of Art, Master of Design (9313) or the Master of Curating and Cultural Leadership who have an Honours Degree in a cognate field may be eligible for 1 year (48 UOC) of credit transfer.

Students seeking credit transfer to the Bachelor of Fine Arts may apply to be considered for credit transfer and this will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Students who have completed diplomas in subject areas other than those listed or at other institutions may apply to be considered for credit transfer and this will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
For International Students to Apply:
Complete the online UNSW International Student Application for admission form, and indicate that you wish to be considered for credit transfer for previous studies. The UNSW online application website is: www.apply.unsw.edu.au.
Deadlines for Application
Term 1: November 30
Term 2: May 30
International students will be advised of their credit transfer officially in the UNSW letter of offer.
