The Bachelor of Fine Arts (Art Theory) component allows you to investigate the histories and theories that inform contemporary art and culture. Situated within the Bachelor of Fine Arts at UNSW Art & Design, the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Art Theory) is a unique program that immerses you in the creatively and intellectually stimulating context of Australia’s largest community of art and design practitioners, curators, students, educators and researchers.
Throughout the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Art Theory) component, you will be guided by our dedicated team of nationally and internationally recognised art theorists, curators, and artists, helping you to examine the intersections between art and a range of historical, cultural, social, and institutional contexts. With complementary studies in studio art practice, opportunities for elective study, and opportunities to learn in professional contexts, the degree prepares you for a successful career in the contemporary art world and related creative fields throughout Australia and internationally.
