Underbelly Arts Festival 2015
- When 1 Aug - 2 Aug 2015
UNSW Art & Design students and graduates are revealing how they make their art as part of the 2015 Underbelly Arts Festival, a unique event that happens only once every two years on historic Cockatoo Island.
This is a festival with some big differences. You’ll get to observe the creative processes of artists up close and personal in The Lab, an onsite residency where works are developed and tested, and when the sun sets on Cockatoo Island, the celebrations begin! The Exhibition Party is your chance to eat, drink, and embrace art with every facet of your being before falling asleep on the island.
From 1-2 August, explore work by more than 100 artists spanning performance, visual arts, dance, live art, sound and music.
Artist collective 110%, made up of Kieran Bryant, Beth Dillon and Lachlan Herd, will present their new project Holiday Feelings, an interactive leisure oasis on the Island.
UNSW A&D Lecturer Astrid Lorange is curating a program of critical discussions and Tully Arnot is exhibiting his new work Digital Forest.
There will also be new work from Lewis Doherty, Pia van Gelder, Amala Groom, Harriet Body and Claire Finneran.
The full festival program can be found here.
